 **40g Dehydrated Sourdough Starter**

Ideal for bakers on the move or those who may not be able to feed their starter right away, our 40g Dehydrated Sourdough Starter is a dried, dormant culture. It’s lightweight, easy to store, and can be reactivated whenever you're ready to bake. Just add water and flour, and you’ll have a lively sourdough starter ready to use.

 


 **Difference Between Live and Dehydrated Starter**

The 40g Live Sourdough Starter is a ready-to-use, active culture that requires regular feeding to stay potent. The 40g Dehydrated Sourdough Starter, on the other hand, is a dried version designed for convenience. It can be stored for long periods without feeding and easily reactivated when you're ready to bake.

 


**Instructions for Feeding Live Sourdough Starter**

1. **Discard**: Remove half of the starter from its container. You can discard it or use it for recipes like pancakes or waffles.
2. **Feed**: Add 60g of unbleached flour and 120g of water to the remaining starter.
3. **Stir**: Mix well until the flour is fully incorporated.
4. **Rest**: Let the starter sit at room temperature for 4-6 hours, or until it becomes bubbly and doubles in size.
5. **Store**: Keep your starter in the refrigerator if not using it immediately. Feed it at least once a week. If kept at room temperature, feed daily. Cover loosely.

 


 **Instructions for Reactivating Dehydrated Sourdough Starter**

1. **Mix**: In a bowl, combine the 40g of dehydrated starter with 60g of lukewarm water. Stir until fully dissolved.
2. **Rest**: Let the mixture sit at room temperature for about an hour.
3. **Feed**: Add 60g of unbleached flour and 60g of water to the mixture. Stir well.
4. **Ferment**: Cover the bowl loosely and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
5. **Repeat**: Over the next 2-3 days, repeat the feeding process (discard half, then add 60g each of unbleached flour and water), until the starter is bubbly and active.
6. **Maintain**: Once the starter is active, you can feed and use it just like the live starter.
